Approximately 56,000 new cases of HIV infection occur in the United States each year.

More than 25% of AIDS infections are in women.  Most become infected through heterosexual contact.

At the end of 2006, an estimated 1,106,400 people in the United States were living with HIV infection, with 21% undiagnosed.

In 2007, African Americans made up 51% of new HIV infections.

Caucasians accounted for 29% of infections and 18% were Hispanic/Latino.

By age 19, 7 in 10 American teenagers are sexually active, but 34% did not use a condom the last time they had sex.

In a 2-year study of heterosexual couples where one partner was HIV-infected and the other wasn’t, none of the partners who consistently used condoms became infected.

Just introduced! Beginning Saturday, March 12, 2011, ARC Ohio is partnering with Masque (34 N. Jefferson, Dayton 45402) to offer free, confidential HIV testing at the club!  After the initial Saaturday night, regular testing will be on the second Tuesday of the month during club hours.
