Miami Valley Prevention Education

Our staff are certified through the Ohio Department of Health to present information to the community and individuals on a variety of HIV related topics including:

HIV 101 – a general overview of HIV, how it is transmitted and how to protect oneself from infection.
HIV in the Workplace – information about HIV transmission and the privacy rights of the infected individual.
HIV Risk Reduction – specific information about how to reduce one’s risk for HIV infection.
Prevention of other sexually transmitted diseases (STDs).

Protecting Our Youth

Although controversy surrounds sexuality education programs for youth, research shows that programs addressing HIV and youth are needed because:

d-Up! Defend Yourself

d-up: Defend Yourself! is a program that attempts to change social norms and perceptions of Black MSM (men-who-have-sex-with-men) regarding safer sex practices in the hopes of improving their sense of self-worth as Black MSM. d-up! is specifically designed for, and targets, Black MSM by incorporating culturally relevant messages, materials, and activities.

The Mu Crew

Epsilon Mu Pi, or The Mu Crew^(R), is a group for gay/bi/questioning guys ages 18-29. We are a social group with several main focuses:
